Dear Rocky Trail Racers and Community,
We wanted to take a moment to reintroduce ourselves and share a bit about our story.
In 2008, Martin and I gave in to a wild adventure – to create a company that would celebrate our love for mountain biking, and bring joy and excitement to riders in Australia. Earlier this year – 15 years on – we reflected on that journey and our family businesses and we are filled with pride and gratitude for what we have achieved.
With this short film we hope to take you behind the scenes and share our vision for the future of our companies. To continue reading about our story, please keep scrolling down.

We founded Rocky Trail Entertainment out of a passion for cycling and a love for the Australian landscape. What started as a small operation has grown into one of the major private mountain bike event organisers in Australia, and we are proud to have been a part of the growth and success of the mountain biking community here.
As a family business, our entrepreneurial spirit, our passion for cycling, and the shared appreciation for nature drive us every day. We believe that integrity, sustainability, making a difference, and family are the values that make our business successful and help us connect with our customers on a personal level.
We are grateful for each and every one of the thousands of Rocky Trail racers who have crossed our start and finish lines over the past 15 years.
Founding, building, and managing a business is never an easy task, and it requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Over the last three years, Rocky Trail Entertainment has tripled in size, and we are grateful for the strong management and support team that has helped us achieve this success. Establishing the sister company Rocky Trail Destination would not have been possible without this dedicated management and support team!
As an Australian family business, we remain committed to our values and passion for cycling that inspired us to start these businesses in the first place. We are expecting 10,000 starters at our races this year and are managing the development of the Mogo Trails with our sister company. Working in the fast-paced and ever-changing world of mountain biking sometimes is tough. However, our business is not a job, it’s a way of life – our way of life – and we are proud to share it with our amazing team and crews across the East Coast of Australia and the broader Rocky Trail community.
Our business and family lives are completely blended and we have been fortunate enough to be raising our son in this world of mountain bike racing. From a young age, he has been exposed to the excitement and energy of Rocky Trail events with us, and our family’s love for the sport runs deep. Running a business and a family at the same time for us means juggling travel, early mornings, and late nights. Dinner conversations about rocky trails. Breakfast conversations about rocky trails. But it also means spending time together on rocky trails and reaping the rewards of delivering events that bring challenges and joy to a growing rider base as well as seeing mountain bike destinations grow.
As both businesses continue to grow and evolve, we are excited about the future and look forward to seeing what the next 15 years hold.
To our #rockytrailracers – Thank you for racing with us. You challenge, motivate and inspire us every day. You are part of the Rocky Trail DNA.
To our sponsors and supporters – Thank you for believing in our dream and supporting Rocky Trail.
To Jo & Bob – Thank you for your kindness, energy and for dedicating your work to the growth of Rocky Trail and for being part of our Aussie family.
To our Support Team and Crews – Thank you for having our back, always.
To our friends, family and mentors – Thank you for your help, thank you for listening and your advice – and most of all, we’re thankful for your encouragement.
To our son Cosmo – Thank you for being on this wild ride with us. Your smile is all that counts.
See you out on those rocky trails,
Juliane & Martin

About Rocky Trail
Est. 2008
The business organises close to 50 events annually along the East Coast of Australia and has established the Fox Superflow® events as the fastest-growing gravity enduro racing series in the country. With a line-up of cross-country marathons and lap-races, the Rocky Trail Academy schools events were introduced in 2019 and in 2022 got over 1500 students out into nature on their bikes. With close to 8,500 competitors and over 5,000 non-racing visitors in 2022, the company has generated over $4 million dollars in tourism for the hosting regions this year.
Operations and logistics are managed by Jo Parker and Bob Morris. As National Event and National Operations Managers they manage effective and passionate event delivery teams for and with us. Our hands-on support crew of customer service, marketing, digital campaign and IT specialists manage the day to day business. Rocky Trail continues to grow its network of racers and supporters providing positive event environments for them to connect to a community of like-minded people and surrounded by nature on ‘rocky trails’.
