About Us
Founded in 2008 by Juliane and Martin Wisata, the Rocky Trail Group is a leading Australian mountain bike event promoter and destination development company. Our core team combine decades of experience in strategic branding, promotional campaigns, and event management with in-depth knowledge of trail destination design, implementation and maintenance.
The events business operates across NSW, QLD, VIC and the ACT with core support and operational crews in each state and has assembled a highly experienced management team with Jo Parker and Bob Morris leading the charge of event operations. Thanks to our event team’s hard work and expertise, riders can enjoy the excitement of the events, knowing that everything behind the scenes is being managed with precision and care. As part of the core team, Paul Aschenberger is our Sponsorship Manager and Mark Carpenter is in charge of Digital Campaigns.
Our support office keeps the gears moving and their commitment to the company’s values and goals is an essential part of the success of the business. Together with our dedicated admin and customer service officers and our state-based event staff, they all play a crucial role in ensuring that events run smoothly and that riders have the best possible experience.
Race the way you Ride is a philosophy encouraging riders to compete in styles they know and love. Our aim is to foster an inclusive MTB community, supporting riders through fun, aspirational, and diverse events. We also contribute sustainable, nature-based tourism, generating both memorable experiences and community growth.
At the core of our mission is connecting riders with nature and the thrill of the sport, driving regional tourism, eco-certified trail stewardship.
Our Rocky Trail Destination division is at the forefront of the group’s innovation offerings, specialising in nature- and trail-based tourism. RTD is currently developing the 130km Mogo Trails network in Batemans Bay, NSW, which will host the Sea Otter Australia Bike Festival & Summit in October 2025.
Juliane and Martin Wisata have been running a family business with bold ambitions. Rocky Trail has been working primarily with regional and rural locations to build presence, assets and awareness. We bring a diverse approach to event management as well as trail development, and destination promotion experience together with underlying social physics methodology to provide a more integrated solution than the visitor economy alone.
