Rocky Trail Academy | High Country Schools MTB Comp
5 March 2021
The first event on the Alpenflow EPIC Weekend at Mt Buller was our High Country Schools MTB Comp | Mt Buller VIC on the Friday. The perfect school day out on ‘rocky trails’!
“The Rocky Trail Academy is our school kids skills development program – this event will engage youth in healthy social and active recreation and brings a heightened appreciation of nature, the environment, self-reliance , self-learning and independence, all as part of riding a bike in the outdoors. We can’t wait to see the students shred the Buller trails with their friends.” – Jo Parker, Event Manager

Alpenflow EPIC Ride
6 March 2021
The Alpenflow EPIC Ride was such a challenge and a brave group of warriors took it on following our owner Martin Wisata out onto the Australian Alpine Epic Trail. The seasoned endurance and stage racer kept his promise and delivered an adventurous, tough and rewarding 70km marathon course on some of the best trails in the Mt Buller and Mt Stirling region and was stoke that he could join in the action together with ‘his’ #rockytrailracers!
Fox Superflow Epic Edition
On the Saturday, the Fox Superflow racers absolutely smashed it at Mt Buller – seven racers clocked in times on all six stages already and will be hitting the trails again today to try and shave off some time. With 30 possible runs across the three days, there is plenty of race time still ahead today and tomorrow! The time to beat on the Sunday was 30min56.9 by Master racer Ant Bateup from Boorolite in VIC with U17’s Tom Jenkins from the NSW North Coast closely behind in overall second (+15sec) and Jason Archer (Master 40+) from Alphington VIC in third outright (+2:18min). Sydney’s Dan Smith heads up the e-Bike classification in 31:25.8.
After three days of racing it was Lionel Sequera from Mont Albert (VIC) for winning the Fox Superflow EPIC Edition at Mt Buller on the March long-weekend – he smashed out a 27min59.7 (and completed a lap in the Rocky Trail Run to the summit too!). He took out the win in a strong field ahead of fellow Elite racers Nick Huf from Ballarat (+29sec) and Oscar Bowditch (+40sec).
Jess Egan is the winning Elite female with 33min28.6. In second now Christine Seelinger from Sydney and Berit Barton from South Yarra.
Rocky Trail EPIC Run
Libby Walkenhorst from Kew in VIC was the fastest female on course at the Rocky Trail Run with quite a few juniors taking part as well. Brothers Fred and Bart Leeton were unstoppable in the male category.
