The Rocky Trail crew is proudly launching a brand-new division with “Rocky Trail Destination” delivering its first initiative close to home on the Central Coast: the “Cycle the Lake” project is a cycle maps tool for the Lakes Festival 2017, which makes a big third year splash from 10-19 November 2017. The ten day Festival presented by Central Coast Council will feature a program of sporting, family, cultural, educational, art and live music events on and surrounding the Coast waterways.
We have been promoting mountain biking events for almost 10 years and for more than half of that time we have been based on the Central Coast. We are excited to showcase our home as a cycling destination as part of the The Lakes Festival 2017 – we love exploring the trails and cycle paths together with our little toddler son and our friends and want to share our favourite routes that connect all the festival venues along the lake.
How to Cycle the Lake
You have now access to a FREE interactive mapping tool via our website or you can follow the online instructions to open the map via your Google Maps App on your mobile device. Categories are “Family-friendly rides”, “Road rides” and “MTB and Cyclo-cross rides”.
Explore our beautiful Lakes Festival venues and events on your bike and stop at playgrounds, bicycle-friendly cafes and pretty lookouts along the way. The featured routes and points of interests can be enjoyed by families with kids as well as passionate cyclists. The map also includes pointers to amenities, water fountains and bike shops nearby. Visitors and locals will be surprised which hidden gems you can discover along the way.
Check out the map and make sure you visit our Pop Up location at Long Jetty Foreshore on Saturday 11 November 9am – 3pm.
Bring your bike, have a chat, we’d love to see you there!
