One more week to register for the AMB100 Marathon at Stromlo Forest Park – Ed McDonald the 100-miler Champion from 2012 and 2013 will be at the start to defend his titles against some of the strongest endurance riders in the country, including SingleSpeed Solo 24H World Champion Brett Bellchambers and fellow Canberran Andrew Hall.
Rocky Trail expects record fields in the 100km and 100miler categories at the race that has been handled as one of the toughest marathon events in Australia. With Meredith Quinlan and Karen Foat there will be two women competing in the 100-miler field. Racers will compete on a 30km+ monster circuit that links up most of Stromlo’s popular singletracks.
As in previous years, the 100-miler competitors will have to complete 5 laps and start under lights at 5am. All remaining categories will be part of a mass start at 9am – for a detailed event schedule, visit the event website.
