Fox Superflow® Finale Awaba 2021 | Results, Photos

The Fox Superflow® sealed by Stan’s at Awaba MTB Park concluded the NSW/ACT Series for 2021.

Such a good crowd and fantastic to have our EWS World Champ Jack Moir there all day on the Saturday chatting with racers and filming for his YouTube Channel too. See you all in two weeks at the Series Kick-Off event at Ourimbah MTB Park on the Central Coast near Wyong for the first Fox Superflow in 2022! Whoop!

We finally have that one in the bag after so many disruptions by the pesky virus and torrential rain last year. But it’s done and dusted now and our #rockytrailracers absolutely smashed with a big downhiller contingent lining up at the three race stage starts alongside a massive junior crowd once again – over 160 racers in the U17, U15 and U13 categories.

The U19’s took out the outright wins with Thomas Locke from Terrey Hills and Cooper Lowe from Engadine in first and second overall and the gravity old-hands Elites Ben-Bullen Aslin, Mark Conliffe and Dave Ludenia topping the Elite podium and placing 3rd, 4th and 5th outright, respectively.

Good way to finish technically my last junior race out at the Superflow on the weekend. Just edging out the win for the day and also the series win. Super close all year but especially yesterday absolutely nothing in it with Cooper Lowe thanks for the competition and keeping me on my toes!

In the women’s an up and coming U15’s racer took the outright win – Elleni Turkovic from the Northern Beaches finished the three race stages in 7:50.3 ahead of U19’s racer and Series winner Connor Mielke (7:54.8). Sami Rothwell another U15’s racer from the Blue Mountains came in third outright (7:54.8) ahead of U19’s Jamie Nix. Elite racer Briony Mattocks placed fifth outright – it was the first taste of gravity racing for the cross-country ace and nationally accomplished endurance racer who said,

“[Enduro] helmet, t-shirt, elbows and extra squishy forks make for an awesome time. I’m thinking it might be true that the bigger the bike the more fun you’ll have…completed my first enduro race and loved it!”
