The second-last Fox Superflow® Queensland South Series race for 2021 is done and dusted! Congratulations to all finishers and podium getters at the Fox Superflow® in Ipswich! – Mount Joyce coming up still in October!
Over 220 racers hit the race tracks at the Castle Hill Blackstone Reserve on the weekend with QLD South Series Leader Rory Mckenzie from Mount Cotton clocking in the fastest outright race time on the four timed gravity race tracks. Again, the U17’s classification reared up and showed it’s strength with Isaiah Kelso from Mount Warren Park coming in second overall with a gap of 6.6 seconds to Mckenzie. In second in the Elites and third outright was Ehren Keidel from Flinders View. Tim Abbott claimed the third podium spot in the Elites.
The Castle Hill [Fox Superflow®] race by Rocky Trail Entertainment was an awesome event as always, the tracks were fast loose and dusty… I managed all clean stages to take the win and add another number one award to my series plate. Stoked!

In the women’s, Jessica Hoskin from the Sunshine Coast won the Elite female and overall title by 7 seconds ahead of local pinner Janine Jungfels with U17’s racer Ella Menigoz coming in third outright. Hayley Parsons from Pacific Pines collected valuable QLD Series points in U19’s and increases her overall QLD South Series lead with one more event to go at Mount Joyce in October.
Again, over one third of the racing field was represented by juniors under 19 years old, showing the fast and eager talent that’s reared in the South East Queensland enduro gravity scene, fostered by the exciting, inclusive and professional atmosphere at the Fox Superflow events by Rocky Trail Entertainment.
Almost 10% of the racers were female and 16 competitors raced on eBikes at Castle Hill – Sunshine Coast’s Colette Quinn increased her series lead with a win ahead of Courtney Holford from Peregian Springs. In the men’s eBike classification, Caleb Dodds from Churwar won ahead of Lenny Mccorry from Greenbank and Grant Turner from Deebing Heights. The strongest categories at Ipswich were the Veterans (30+) and Master classifications.
Vets racer Matthew Leese from Fernvale placed 12th outright and won ahead of Kieran Vaughan and Neil Gabb. In the women’s Katie Dunn from Stafford won the Vets ahead of Sarah Harding.
Local racer Tim Richmond won the Master 40+ category and SuperMaster 50+ racer Peter Smith from Cornubia won his age group ahead of Craig Fisher. Smith is now 3rd outright in the series. GrandMaster 60+ Jeff Shillington from Auchenflower represented at Ipswich and sits on the same amount of series points and Elite racer Rory Mckenzie. In the women’s, the fastest Master racer was Corinne Dolan from Kallangur and Kristine Kersely got points in the SuperMaster female classification.
