This event is part of our Fox Superflow QLD Series.

Fox Superflow® is racing the way you ride. Ride up at your own pace. Drop in with your buddies on each other’s tyre or leave a space to pin. It’s about doing party trains, railing berms and SENDING IT! Be a Rocky Trail racer and turn up the volume in your mountain bike life and come with us to the the Fox Superflow on the newly launched Eastern Escarpment MTB Trails!

The area has the best gravity flow trails in Brisbane and we are stoked for our Fox Superflow® to absolutely ROCK the place, AKA West Mt Cotton Rd, AKA Westies.

Years of advocacy by the RATS Cycling Club and one super supportive council in Redlands City has come together to deliver 28km of trail network of broad appeal. From the technical black, flowy blue and totally accessible green. We have chosen 3 tracks that we know you “Superflowers” will love!

Get ready for an absolute adrenaline rush as you smash down our Superflow race tracks to hunt down those precious seconds for the win!

This race is part of the Fox Superflow QLD Series!

RACE THE WAY YOU RIDE

Freedom, riding, being outside, friends, community, heavy breathing leading to epic descents. It’s what we do and it’s what the Fox Superflow® is all about. Let’s bang into some berms and do turnbars off jumps. Life is for living!

The Fox Superflow® is Rocky Trail’s unique gravity format, which has been taking the enduro community by storm with its flexible format that let’s racers across a wide range of age categories ride and race together all day.

It’s racing the way you ride: Ride up at your own pace. Drop in with your buddies on each other’s tyre or leave a space to pin. It’s about doing party trains, railing berms and SENDING IT!

Who can race it?

This is friendly enduro racing without a tight schedule: You can pick the order in which to tackle the race stages, which makes this event social and action-packed at the same time! You can do up to five runs on each stage, the fastest one counts and there are no start orders, which means whatever category you’re in, you can ride together and still lock your own best race run in!

There are many age categories in this event – a solid field of Elites and semi-pros in the Expert (19+) and Veterans (30+) across male and female classifications, with big groups of mates chasing each other on the race tracks. One of the strongest representations we get in the Masters (40+ / 50+ / 60+) with a good third of competitors in those fields – many of them racing with their juniors and families!

Our junior truly bring the event to life – over one third of racers are usually Under 17 years old with competitors as young as 10 at the start lines. The junior podiums generally are always full across boys and girls categories with U13, U15 and U17s as well as U19’s smashing it out on the trails.

We are offering a buddy system for the races – parents or guardians can race themselves and be with their juniors all day because of our flexible timing system. However, we also offer them to accompany young competitors out on track for free as buddies or marshals. This can be arranged on the day with our registration crew.
Get ready for an absolute adrenaline rush as you smash down our Superflow race tracks to hunt down those precious seconds for the win!

Ride to start un-timed: You ride to the starts un-timed, which means you can spend all day together with mates, your partner or the junior frothers!

Three timed race stages, up to five runs on each, fastest time on each counts! That’s 45 possible race runs! Within a set timing window you complete a set of timed race stages down – the faster you go, the more challenging it gets! Race face on – photos included!!

No start-order! No worries! We have a flexible timing system so you can pick yourself when to race which stage – up to 5 runs on each!

Generally, you pick your race day, Saturday or Sunday – check the individual race pages for the venue-specific set up. There are usually 3 timed race tracks and we aim at a race time of 10-15 minutes.

LIVE timing: Start and finish of each race stage is automatic; we will have marshalls in place. Cross the line, check your result on your phone!

We created Rocky Trail Entertainment so that you can RACE THE WAY YOU RIDE!

We offer an awesome day out to a wide range of riders – from elite to amateur racers to families, couples and groups of friends riding together. We also offer Hardtail and eBike categories.

There are regional, state and outright series classifications – the series points you collect for each race you attend will be added together and split into NSW/ACT, QLD North, QLD South and VIC. Additionally we will crown the overall Australian Fox Superflow Champions.

Included in each entry: $60 race photo package from the crew at OuterImage.com.au – competitors can download their photos from an online portal after each event.

RATS Cycling Club is proud to help deliver the first race at the newly developed Eastern Escarpment trails. RATS have been involved for some time in advocating, encouraging and coordinating with stakeholders to get these trails created on Mt Cotton. We are delighted with the investment made by Redland City Council, in not only building the trails, but the facility build that will be used to host this event. By partnering with Rocky Trail Entertainment, who are a proven force in delivering quality, fun events, RATS is ensuring the first event at Eastern Escarpment will be one to remember. We hope all our members, and the wider MTB community, get involved to race or volunteer on the day. The race will offer an opportunity for riders to test their descending skills on some the region’s newest and most popular gravity trails. #RacingAdvocacyTrailcareSocial #RATSCycling

2021 Race tracks

  • FOX – “Metamorphic” starting below the top switchbacks this fun and fast track will thrill. There is a long A and B line option near the end with conjecture on which side is fastest. Everything is rollable but there are some jumps to hit for the pinners. 1.4km and 100m vertical drop.
  • STANS – “Shenanigans” the full length includes some blown-out but fast corners. There is a narrow shoot that sneaks up on the unsuspecting. Jumps if you want, Pumps if you can. The trail is just long enough to test your upper bodies endurance. 1.3km and 85m vertical.
  • LAZER – “Powerful Howl” is great fun. This short blast will put a smile on the dial. Designed for adaptive cycles means the track is wide but this deceives the inexperienced to believing lines aren’t still important for fast. 800m 60m vertical drop.

Untimed transitions: The climbing trails are challenging but fun and you can gun up the steep fire roads if you just want to get the climbs over fast.

Facilities

  • Toilets: We will provide additional toilets at the Event Hub.
  • Camping: not available on-site.
  • Accommodation: tbc
  • Coffee/Food: tbc
  • Water: Potable water available on-site.

Race pics included!

All race photos are included in your entry and elite and amateur racers of different ages and riding preferences will have a blast – adults and juniors alike! Our young shredders love it, because they not only can smash their mates but also mum and dad out on track!
