IMPORTANT: AMB100 mass race start 8am!

START TIME 1 hour ealier (except 100milers): Due to high temperatures being forecast for Sunday we decided to move the start for the 100, 66 and 33 km racers to 8am. Registration on Sunday starts at 6am and the Saturday registration has been extended. Please check out the updated schedule.

TRACK: We also shortened the track a little and 1 lap will now be around the 25km mark. Considering that it is almost entirely singletrail lap times are still relatively long.

Track description: The race director decided to shorten the 2014 AMB100 race track marginally, taking out Holden’s Creek near the event centre and head straight up towards the Observatory via Fenceline and Blue Gum Climb. From the top you descend via Western Wedgetail towards the back down Pork Barrell. – IMPORTANT: Pork Barrell is a more technical trail section of Stromlo, beware of the rocky and sandy corners as well as roll-overs! – From half-way down Pork Barrell you turn towards Slick Rock and Brindabellas and then turn into Deep Creek. You start climbing back via Terminal Velocity and Missing Link arriving on top of Double Dissolution. Crim Track and Party Line are next, followed by Dingo and Blue Tongue/Heart Breaker – from there you turn left onto Skyline. Half-way down Luge you turn LEFT to climb up Blackberry Climb to Slant Six and then you’re on the home run via Break-Out.

WATER: In addition to the water tap on top of hill at the Observatory, which will me marked as it is about 50m from the track, we will have a second depot with water that you come across twice at the start of “Double Dissolution” and “Partyline”.

We’re working on the final rider briefing, which will be emailed out and posted on Thursday morning, 6/02/2014.

Thank you for your cooperation.
