The Jetblack Wild Wombat is a family and kid-friendly mountain bike event where up and coming riders as well as experienced racers can have fun together and alongside each other.

Based at Corrigans Beach Reserve in Batemans Bay the activities are spread across two days on the weekend of 30 November and 1 December. The event is organised by Rocky Trail Entertainment who ran the event for the first time in 2018 as a 12-hour endurance event on the Mogo Dam Loop and MTB Trails near the Eurobodalla Botanic Garden.
For the 2019 edition the Rocky Trail crew is introducing a new line-up of activities for local and visiting cyclists, which have been put together with mountain biking families and groups of friends in mind.

“Often we find that mum and or just dad ride or one partner and that the other halves and families don’t like missing out on quality time with their loved ones and friends – that’s why we created this event where they can ride together and race at their own pace plus we are promoting experiences off the race track in the region”, says Rocky Trail’s Juliane Wisata.
Special classification for schools
This is an event that is promoted to mountain bikers all across NSW and the ACT and also offers a strong community connection with a special schools classification – participating students can add their school into a designated field when they sign up to the event and collect points in the race for a special schools award.
Two local bike shops will be on-site as well: Batemans Bay Cycles and Moruya Bicycles will have stands at the event centre.
There are also many fun things to do for little and junior riders – the event offers free kids time trials and activities as well as special junior categories in the timed race.

No leave passes: bring the fambam along!
Herself a mum of an active four-year old boy she says that the venue opportunity at Corrigans Beach Reserve in the heart of Batemans Bay prompted development of the new event.
“We partnered up with quite a few local businesses in the Eurobodalla area who are supporting the event with a line-up of activities that complement our event – things that the family or partners can experience while dad or a partner takes part in our race and many activities they can all enjoy together off the bike too”, she explained.
