National 24 Hour Solo Champions defending jerseys at JetBlack 24 Hour in Mount Annan

Riders who go hardcore and compete solo, will race for the official national titles and jerseys across various age groups. The reigning 24 Hour Solo National and World Champion, Jason English from Port Macquarie has confirmed this week that he will be defending his title at Mount Annan and one of his biggest competitors will be last year’s JetBlack 24 Hour winner, Brett Bellchambers.

More than 400 riders from all over Australia are expected at the JetBlack 24 Hour – about one fifth of the field will compete in the solo nationals classifications. The reigning female National Champion and favourite Liz Smith from Wollongong will be facing some of the country’s most talented endurance racers, including Tory Thomas, the 2014 Commonwealth Games MTB Team rider from Mount Beauty in Victoria.

It’ll be a cracker of a race!
The organisers from Rocky Trail Entertainment confirmed that the botanic garden trail crew is working on an extension to their popular mountain bike trail network and the new trails will be launched at the JetBlack 24 Hour! Apart from the solo categories, competitors can take on the JetBlack 24 Hour in teams of up to six riders or race solo or in teams in the additional six-plus-six hour categories. Families are welcome – kids activities and free junior races on Saturday afternoon! Spectator entry is free.

The official hashtags of the event are #jetblack24 and #24solonationals.

Online registration will be open until Wednesday, 26 November, at 8pm via www.rockytrailentertainment.com
