Race Report, Photos and Results Fox Superflow Greenvalleys NSW

What a weekend! The second-biggest Fox Superflow(TM) of the year with over 400 racers hitting the trails at Greenvalleys Bike Park! In hot conditions some racers recorded over 1,000vm of climbing doing multiple runs of the two tracks – up to five times can be recorded and the fastest time counts. Race Director Martin Wisata had decided on Friday to stick with 2 race tracks only because of the warm weather and the higher thand standard amount of climbing in a Superflow(TM) event at this venue.

Ryan Gilchrist from the NSW North Coast took out the Elite win with 5:00.8 and Canberra’s Cuthbert won the women’s outright in 5:46.2. Cutbert also takes the 2020 Fox Superflow Series title in the women’s with 2000 points. In the men’s Jake Newell from the Central Coast took out the Elite Series with 1670 points; in the men’s William Angel claimed most points with 2000 like Zoe.

The local Vets shredders took full home advantage – Mitchell Stokoe and Thomas Locke from Wollongong came 2nd and 3rd outright in the men’s. Josh Carlson won the eBike classification and clocked in the fastest race time in 4:58.1.

In the women’s local U17’s racer Poppy Pollock came second outright ahead of Engadine’s Connor Mielke in third. In the Elite women, Katherine Hosking was runner up to Cuthbert.

In the Elite Men’s, Daniel Bender from Wollongong came in second ahead of Hugh Balcomb from the Nortnern Beaches.

Fox Superflow: Race the way you ride

The Fox Superflow events had evolved to its current popularity over the course of a decade, said Rocky Trail co-founder Juliane Wisata.

“We have invested a lot in shaping the concept over the years and specific timing equipment to allow our competitors to ‘race the way they love riding their bikes’ – this means that we encourage the social element of our events by not timing the uphills and are offering three to four race stages that can be completed in any order and up to five times”, she explained. This flexibility had been attracting a wide range of racers and had been growing the junior categories.
