VIRTUAL RIDER BRIEFING

EWS Qualifier Information

(scroll down for general race track info and event services as well as Covid regulations).

Special classification: EWS Qualifier!

Racers on SUNDAY may choose to go into the EWS qualifier classification, which requires an ADDITIONAL 4th race track to be completed. This 4th race track has a mandatory full face helmet requirement.

  • You can earn EWS points by racing on SUNDAY and ticking the EWS button when registering.
  • In order to qualify for points you will need to race all 3 Superflow trails plus the 4th EWS track (Maxxis) which uses the lower part of the Awaba DH track (Monkey).
  • Attention EWS update: in total to get EWS points, on Sunday you need to record 6 runs – this means that you will do 2 of the 4 tracks twice (your fastest and second-fastest race track counts on those 2).
You still get 5 runs/attempts on each track.
  • EWS ONLY Race Track requirement:
    • FOX Track: 1 run needs to be recorded (fastest counts)
Biraban, Little Falcon into Red Loop, access from the event centre via Mt Faulk Road, go past the EWS start and traverse towards Fox Start.
    • STANS Track: 1 run needs to be recorded (fastest counts)
recommended to do this track after you’ve done the Fox track (follow the signs) – from the Fox finish it’s a short climb to the start of the Wild Polly track. Start at the Rocky Trail sign. 🙂 Ride back to the event centre via the Red Loop.
    • LAZER Track: 2 runs need to be recorded (fastest and second-fastest counts)
We race Faulk line, access from the event centre via Mt Faulk Road fire road – please note this track had to be re-built because of the recent wet weather and still has some very soft patches. Please watch out on your first runs.
    • MAXXIS Track – EWS addition: 2 runs need to be recorded (fastest and second-fastest counts)
Monkey track, we start at the DH bridge/tunnel, access from the event centre via Mt Faulk Road, full face helmet is mandatory on this track
  • You will get a Superflow result based on the 3 tracks (3 times) AND the additional EWS World Series Qualifier result which combines your race times as per the description above – you need 6 times for that.
  • A full face helmet is mandatory on the 4th EWS track.
  • Only racers with an EWS membership are eligible to collect Global Ranking points.
  • To find out more about the EWS have a look here.

Important: Mt Faulk Road is a public road and open to the public on race day. The road is NOT closed to the public. Please ride up on the left-hand side and watch out for oncoming traffic!

How are we running this event and how do we keep you safe? By limiting the rider field to 300 per day you can see right away that we still err on the side of caution. So please understand if some of the rules appear harsh, but we need to ensure that we can keep racing in this new world.

  • Social Distancing: Our main request is that you follow the Covid-Safe rules and regulations as laid out by the ACT Government and observe strict Social Distancing Rules throughout your race day. A lot of thought has gone into this Rider Briefing and we expect all competitors and non-racing visitors to comply with how this event will be run. Please understand that the team won’t shake hands, hug, high five or fist bump anyone and will be trying keep some distance to all riders during registration, start and finish. There will be a lot socially distance elbow bumps from us, which is almost as good .
