Rocky Trail brings new Shimano Grand Prix mountain bike racing format to Logan: 3 Races in 1

Rocky Trail Entertainment will return to Daisy Hill MTB Park with a re-launch of one of their flagship cross-country endurance racing series in QLD.

The new Shimano Grand Prix racing format changed from the traditional time-based endurance racing format to a lap-race with three distance options. The event is supported by Logan City Council and endorsed by the local RATS mountain bike Club and is expected to attract 150-200 competitors. The race is part of a series with events across NSW, ACT, QLD and VIC. Each race will offer distance challenges that are completely tailored to the individual race.

Shimano Grand Prix mountain bike racing is all be about the thrill of the climb and the rush of the descents. We just want our racers to have fun, and realise that bikes rule, and riding bikes might be the best days of your life!

Rocky Trail about their new Shimano GP Format

Rocky Trail sets the number of laps. You pick your Race.

The Shimano GP at Daisy Hill MTB Park will offer three distance challenges on a circuit lap: approximately 75km (Hero), 50kms (Adventure) and 25kms (Challenge). The exact number of laps is always confirmed in the week leading up to the race.

The races have Age Group Categories for solos in all the distance challenges and a pairs team offering in the longest, the Hero race. There will classification awards that will reward the outright male/female winners of each distance with their custom colour coded “Classification Plate”. The races also offer eBike categories in the Adventure distance.
