Rocky Trail team chat around the camp fire

MP3 file, 57 minutes, recorded in late April 2020.

Our mission is to organise events where you can race the way you ride.

We want our events to spark and feed your love for racing, challenging yourself and fellow #rockytrailracers. We deliver events where podium chasers can line up with Australia’s elites and experienced endurance racers and were casual racers have a blast, all feeling safe and part of our community.

We, Juliane and Martin Wisata, founded Rocky Trail Entertainment Pty Ltd in 2008 and our first race had eight competitors at the start line – including the two of us! Since then we have organised close to 300 events and still love that we can help cyclists discover how much fun it is to not only to ride but to race their mountain bikes out on rocky trails with us.

Over the years we have met a lot of people from all walks of life (and on all sorts of bikes!) who have helped shape our range of events. Our business has evolved to one of the major cycling events promoters in Australia and we can proudly state that we think it’s because we love being out there among the trees on the trails as much as our racers do. And – because all our race concepts have been and are ‘born’ out of our love for being out on the trails.

Over the past two years, two people in particular have influenced our company a lot – our Event Managers Jo Parker and Bob Morris. Bob has been working in the cycling industry since the early nineties and he was timing some of the very first Rocky Trail events back in 2008 and many downhill races from there onwards. Jo is a highly experienced project manager and has delivered major cycling events across Australia. You know when you meet people and something clicks right away? For the four of us certainly a lot of puzzle pieces fell into place.

As a fully operational second events team they have already managed two events this year under the Rocky Trail banner, the Shimano MTB GP in Orange and The Willo Marathon in Canberra, plus they have been driving our expansion phase hard with and for us.

In late April the four of us had an expansion workshop at the Rocky Trail HQ and one night we ended up around a campfire in the backyard chatting about what brought us together, there are many blasts from the past, laughs, future plans …

Why leather pants and the Olympics played a major part in it all!

Jo drops a bomb shell at the end…

Grab a cold one or a glass of a hearty red (or pop the audio on when you hop on your trainer next) – whatever you fancy, imagine the four of us around the fire under the stars and get to know us a bit more.
