Unfortunately today was a very sad day for all Rocky Trail Racers and our Crew with one of our racers passing away while racing. His family has been informed and our heartfelt condolences go out to them as well as the team mates.
We are very grateful to our crew and the emergency services for their professional and quick response as well as to all the racers who stopped and helped. With the 4-hour event just finished the 7-hour competition was immediately stopped and riders directed back to the event center.
While we don’t know the exact cause of the rider’s death, it happened at a very slow part of the course.
Once again we’d like to thank the mountain biking and Rocky Trail community who came together today and stood by each other.
