Wellington Shire Destination Guide

Looking for the perfect combination of all of life’s treasures? Just 2.5km East of Melbourne, enjoy some of Victoria’s finest offerings – from scenic mountain ranges, pristine beaches, beautiful wetlands, temperate rainforests, and many other beautiful places, the best of everything is right at your fingertips in the heart of Gippsland – the Middle of Everywhere!

About the Event

The Shimano MTB GP events are all about “seriously fun” racing! Podium chasers can line up with Australia’s elites and experienced amateur endurance racers plus casual racers will have a blast, all feeling safe and part of an inspiring community.

Supported by Wellington Shire Council, the event is happening at the fantastic Blores Hill Mountain Bike Park, where you can race for four (GP4) hours solo, or in relay pairs. There are age-group and eBike categories. Expect less of a winners-only-focused competition, but a positive and inclusive experience for all racers.

This is XC lap racing at its best! From the first time between the tape to people that have spent a lifetime training for power output, we have you covered when you line up at the Rocky Trail start line!

About the trails:
Located on 50 acres of natural bushland and just a few kilometres north of Heyfield along the Tinamba-Glenmaggie Road, Blores Hill Mountain Bike Park has been keeping keen adventure seekers pumped for decades. Well-managed by the local Gippsland Mountain Bike Club, the park offers a range of tracks suitable for beginners right through to the most fierce competitors.

Follow the M1 from Melbourne to John Field Drive in Newborough, take the C103 exit toware Moe, then head north from Heyfield along the Tinamba-Glenmaggie Road to arrive at the park.

DID YOU KNOW – We have THREE Shimano GPs happening in the region across six weeks
