Shimano Support: Keeping Your Wheels Turning at The Willo
The legends at Shimano are back on board to provide expert Tech Support and Neutral Service for this year’s Willo Marathon! Whether you’ve dropped a chain or need a last-minute adjustment to keep your flow, Pete from the Shimano team is here to ensure your focus stays on the trail.
The Shimano Tech & Feed Zone
You’ll find the Shimano Tech Zone conveniently located on-course at the start/end of the Coondoo Eastern Loop on Butterfly Road. This isn’t just a spot for mechanical fixes; it’s a high-energy hub where you can catch your breath and regroup. At this location, we will have:
- Expert Neutral Mechanics: Staffed by Shimano and our event marshals to help with essential repairs.
- Neutral Feed Station: Stocked with fruit, electrolytes, and water to keep your energy levels topped up.
- Official Race Marshals: On-hand for guidance and support as you navigate the loops.
General Rider Logistics: Bag & Bottle Drop
For our 2 and 3-lap riders, we’re making it easier to manage your hydration.
- The System: A bottle drop collection is available. All items must be NAMED and secured into a single package (e.g., two bottles taped together).
- Deadline: Drop your gear into the designated boxes at the Registration Tent before 8:30 am.
Stay Hydrated
While there is a limited supply of water at the Shimano Tech & Feed Zone for emergencies, please remember that riders must bring sufficient water to sustain themselves and their support crew throughout the entire event.
A massive thank you to Shimano for helping us keep the “Willo Spirit” alive with professional-grade support. For more details on the course layout, check out the Feed & Tech Zone section of your official Event Guide.
