Another record event on the Sunshine Coast had 300 juniors line-up at the Rocky Trail Academy Schools Comp at Sugar Bag MTB Park. Our schools racing format has taken the QLD junior market by storm this year and with sell-out events we will ramp up capacity for 2023. Events have been launched also in NSW, ACT and VIC with a bigger line-up planned for next year. One more event to go in QLD at Eastern Escarpment on 26 August, then the Sunday event on the NSW Southern Highlands in Welby and we’ll finish off the Season at Haunted Hills MTB Park in Gippsland VIC on the Halloween weekend.
Almost 30 schools competed for points with the 20 racers from Kingaroy State High School claiming the Champion School title. Glasshouse Christian College with 35 students at the start line came in second and Moreton Bay College, the winning school from the Nerang event, was in third.

- Moreton Bay Colleges = 174 points
Rocky Trail is committed to fostering the grassroots development of MTB – our Rocky Trail Academy events are a social and fun way to get a taste for serious competition and to start building on the riders’ strengths and riding preferences. The aim is to encourage a positive racing environment for young athletes to thrive. We welcome all enquiries from other school’s that would like one in their region.
